Kara Clapp

Founding Partner / Principal Creative Director

Why be told to “think outside the box” when one lives in a vast array of unlimited dimensions? Seems silly to ever be confined by a square spatial structure in the first place. Thinking limitlessly is how Kara got her start in the world of design. Fresh from graduate school in advertising design, she landed her first design job at Landor Associates in San Francisco. Working on accounts such as FedEx, Edy’s Ice Cream, Nabisco, Lay’s and Oral-B allowed her to be surrounded by design talent and she thrived in the whirlwind that is the packaging and consumer products branding industry. Eventually, en route from Paris, Manchester, and Los Angeles, she made her way to the Guinness Grand Metropolitan company in Minneapolis, MN. Guinness Grand Met headquartered Pillsbury, Häagen-Dazs, Green Giant, and Old El Paso in the cold Midwestern city. After a couple of years working mainly with Pillsbury, she desired to regain feeling in her toes and came to South Florida to sink them in the sand and surf.

After her arrival in South Florida, Kara enjoyed working for a couple of design agencies. It was here that she discovered a mutual talent and creative partner in Gladiola Quintanilla. Together they built an all-encompassing and forward-thinking agency, with everything their clients needed, all under one roof. Sack Lunch is now able to showcase that worldwide branding expertise down here in South Florida for both local and national clientele. Finally, Kara is able to think at her own pace with no box-like constraints.
