Client

Barista Pop! is a unique snack company that makes getting your caffeine kick fun. Their cold brew coffee turned popsicles is perfect for the consumer who loves coffee and wants to ignite their inner child. They have a commitment to quality and great taste and they roast, brew, and freeze their cold brew pops all in one place—coffee is their specialty. Every step has been carefully considered and crafted to bring their consumers the best product possible.

Challenge

The Barista Pop! team came to Sack Lunch looking for top to bottom branding. Their one-of-a-kind product meant we needed to develop a brand and marketing strategy that informed their consumers what they were and how they were unique. They wanted a brand design that was fun and exciting, that showed their passion, and demonstrated their knowledge and experience with coffee. A new website along with logo and package design were central focuses of this project. All members of our team have their own strengths and collaborative work is no stranger to us but we went all in on this project. Every member of our team contributed to Barista Pop!’s branding.

01. Style

We and the Barista Pop! team ultimately settled on a Pop Art style for their branding. The initial inspiration for choosing this style was their name—Pop Art for Barista Pop!. But our reasons for keeping the style continued to develop. The colorful nature and bright minimalism of the Pop Art style was perfectly suited for the feelings Barista Pop! wanted to evoke in their customers. The cartoon-like style matched well with the cute, catchy sayings we wanted to use for copy. We also looked forward to future marketing and trends. This style would suit marketing that involved fun and eye-catching videos, animations, and colorful templates for social media.

02. Package & Logo Design

Our creative team designed several logos, searching for the one that best fit the product and brand. We presented our designs to Barista Pop!, both digitally and through product mockups, and worked with them to pick the designs that they felt most represented them and their vision. They ultimately chose the Pop Art-style design in bright and invigorating primary colors with a logo that speaks to their coffee creations.

03. Website

We wanted Barista Pop!’s website to be just as fun and exciting as their packaging design. We continued in the Pop Art style and rendered the site in the same bright primary colors, a slightly-rounded font, and included numerous shots of the product and its packaging. The fun colors and minimalist font were accompanied by animations to add visual interest and movement to the site.
