The Boca Raton Library is a public library open to residents of the City of Boca Raton. Serving a city with a population of around 95,000 people, the library has origins that stretch back to 1923 when The Women’s Club of Boca Raton started a community library. Despite a series of openings and closings throughout its 100-year history, the library remains a pillar of the community. Those women knew libraries are vital for a thriving community. They serve as a community center, an educational hub, and a place where imaginations are nurtured and allowed to flourish. Libraries expose people to different beliefs and cultures and improve literacy rates in the communities they serve. They help us raise educated, compassionate, and imaginative children. In service of that goal, the Boca Raton Library currently oversees a collection of almost a quarter million books and other assets, along with hosting numerous events, classes, and programs. We love that they trust us to create something exciting and extraordinary for them and their patrons.
For 4 years, Sack Lunch has tackled all the illustrations for the library’s Summer Reading Program for kids. They are a client that has come to trust us and the quality of our work. They typically give us a theme and the freedom to really exercise our creativity. The designs were featured in a variety of situations such as cut-out signs in the children’s area along with printed totes and t-shirts. The success of the Summer Reading Program illustrations led them to ask Sack Lunch to redesign their library cards. A challenge we were quite excited by.
